You know those times when things do not seem to be going your way?

gpsnight

No matter how hard you try, you do not feel as if you can catch a break?

…And if you did not know better you would think it is a conspiracy against you?

I understand.  I’ve been there.

In stark contrast, recently I gave over 20 presentations and performances, and dozens of media interviews in 6 cities across Australia in 28 days.  When I wasn’t on stage I was in a meeting, an interview or catching precious family and friend time on the other side of the world.  It was exhilarating, incredible, a total high.

But in many of my speeches, I shared about some of the biggest disappointments and times of “Recalculating” in my own life.  How my world has fallen apart through heartbreak, financial rock bottom debt or career rejection over and over again.

I also shared how I have made a commitment to keep getting back up and moving forward.

No. Matter. What.

Choice

What I want you to know is it is always a choice.  (Even when it does not seem like it).

How we deal with challenges big or small in our lives is a choice.

Are we going to let it get the best of us or are we going to be the one to take charge and do something, anything, one step at a time to move in the direction we REALLY want to be headed?

I get it.  There are times when a walk around the block or a glass of water will not be enough.  There are times when we need to be very gentle with ourselves and take it a day at a time.

You Can Do This

After you experience rock bottom, there will be a steady climb upward.  It may not be as fast as you want it to be, but when you are dealing with extreme circumstances it can take a while to put things back in place.

You can do this.  You can take one action to make yourself feel just a little bit better.  It might be to have an early night and get some excellent rest.  To call a friend for some support.  Or to say “no”.

When things are not going as planned – how do you Recalculate?  What are your ‘go to’ actions when you are working to move forward no matter what?

Remember:

It is never too late to go for what you really want.

It is never too late to take steps toward a happier life.

It is never too late to recalculate.
